Volunteer in Minnesota

Are there some skills not tapped in your current life? Project Minnesota/León can lead you to fulfillment! We need help and you get to choose how and how much.

1-3 hours/month

  • Create picture and info displays for fundraisers displaying current projects, delegations, or current events in Nicaragua.
  • Share expertise with our editors of the PML newsletter and website.
  • Data entry and database upkeep. (GoldMine Software)
  • Translate letters going to and coming from León. (English/Spanish & Spanish/English).

3-10 hours/month

  • Write grant proposals to support PML.
  • Become a member of a PML committee.
  • Assist in folding, stuffing, labeling the Newsletter and Advocacy Alerts. (PML provides a light supper and comaraderie.)
  • Host a rice and beans “Gallo Pinto” gathering from 5:30-8:00pm some evening. (PML will assist with the cooking and invite someone to share on a current topic.)

Ongoing commitment

  • Committee Chair/Board positions available now:
    • Special Events Committee
    • Delegation Committee.
  • Create a local speakers' group who will promote understanding in Minnesota about PML’s mission and activities.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with local Latino communities and advocacy organizations about related PML events.
